One year commuting with an electric bike has less climate impact than one single day’s commuting with a car. Furthermore, you gain both time and money. In this project we kidnapped the car from three families with kids during one year.

This is a project on design for a socially inclusive energy-efficiency in the sustainable city. The main focus was to develop design experiments that explored alternative ways to build sustainably, with a larger focus on sustainable everyday practices rather than technical efficiency.  

This project constitutes the core of the Green Leap mission. It is essentially a combination of our activities building networks and spreading knowledge, and acts as a bridge between the design industry and research in sustainable development.

In this project, we want to explore how dominating discourses on sustainability and “sustainable lifestyles” are reproduced in different types of media and the consequences of this in relation to achieving behavior change.

Building and housing is one of the most energy-demanding areas and accounts for approximately 40% of our CO2 use. In the DelBo project, we are taking a big step towards concretization and creating capacity for development by addressing what prevents the construction of shared housing on a larger scale.

This project aimed at exploring how the form giving of local areas can encourage sustainable behaviours, and lowered energy use. Focus was on the Albano campus area, planned with the ambition to be self-sustainable on energy.

Green Leap is part of the project EcoDesign Circle, which is a EU-funded project forming a competence network based on circular economy, ecological design and life cycle design in the Baltic Sea region.

Even though there is consensus regarding shifting energy sources to renewables and decrease climate emissions, not much is happening and time is running out. In this project, we have worked with a user-centred design methodology to explore people’s images of the future from an energy and climate perspective.

The purpose of the project is to create an understanding for how it is possible, through design, to enhance driving forces that lead to an increased commitment to environmental issues through social interplay and collective participation.

The aim of the project is to increase knowledge of electricity consumers’ need for information and feedback when they become prosumers and to develop business models and IT services that make it easier to be active in the smart grid.

SAMS stands for Sustainable Accessibility and Mobility Services and is a transdiciplinary research programme financed by Mistra. It provides a forum for knowledge exchange and collaboration between industry, the public sector and research.

The project ”Prototyping the Future” aims at developing hands-on and accessible visualisations of a sustainable and energy-efficient future. In this way, we want to normalise sustainable lifestyles. Here you can test drive our prototype.

The aim of the project Photovoltaics – why not? has been to research why photovoltaics have not been adopted by more Swedish households. The project has had a user-centred perspective and is mainly based on two interview studies and a design phase.

The aim of this project is to create knowledge about habits, lifestyles and practices concerning sustainable consumption, and to develop efficient tools to communicate this knowledge to stakeholders.

We must accept the present reality – only thereby do we have the possibility to understand it, relate to it to influence it and create culture that is a flexible tool for the transition.
